In July 2020, the Stanislaus County Board of Supervisors approved $10 million in CARES Act funding for the Stanislaus County Business Grant program. The program will award $10 million in grants to support local businesses, with an emphasis on businesses that have been impacted the most by the coronavirus pandemic and closures mandated by the State of California.
Stanislaus County Business Grants will be awarded to qualified business applicants and the funds shall be used for operational needs such as payroll, lease or mortgage payments, materials, supplies, and services. In order to qualify, businesses must submit all required documentation to Stanislaus County Workforce Development by August 28, 2020 at 5:00 pm. A link to the application page as well as a list of frequently asked questions can be found here.
Once applications are submitted, the county will score them based on: (1) prior business health, (2) the impact of the coronavirus on the business, and (3) business planning and impact. Additional information on the scoring criteria will be presented to the Stanislaus County Board of Supervisors at their public meeting on Tuesday, August 25 at 9:00 AM.
A minimum of $5 million in funding will be allocated to support eligible small businesses. Small businesses, defined as businesses that employed 50 or less full-time equivalent employees for the 12 months prior to the coronavirus-related closures on March 19, 2020, are eligible for grants of up to $25,000. Medium and large businesses, defined as businesses that employed over 50 full-time equivalent employees for the 12 months prior to the coronavirus-related closures on March 19, 2020, are eligible for grants of up to $50,000.
